How much does it cost to paint a room?
Answer: While every project is unique, a standard 12x12 room typically costs between $450 and $950. The final price depends on factors like ceiling height, the condition of the walls, and whether we are also painting trim and doors. Our online calculator can provide a more specific estimate for your space.
Is it worth paying for premium paint like Sherwin-Williams or Benjamin Moore?
Answer: Absolutely. Premium paints offer significantly better coverage, durability, and a richer final finish. While the upfront cost is higher, they resist scuffs and fading better, meaning your paint job will look beautiful for much longer, providing better long-term value.
How do you prepare the room before painting?
Answer: Proper preparation is the key to a flawless finish. Our standard process includes moving all furniture to the center of the room and covering it, protecting floors with drop cloths, filling any nail holes or small cracks in the walls, and scuff-sanding surfaces for maximum paint adhesion.
Do I need to move my furniture before you arrive?
Answer: We ask that you please remove any small, fragile, or personal items from the room. Our team will handle moving the larger furniture (sofas, tables, etc.) and ensuring everything is safely covered and protected before we begin.
How many coats of paint do you apply?
Answer: We always apply two full coats of finish paint. A two-coat application ensures a deep, uniform color and the most durable, long-lasting finish. If we're making a drastic color change (e.g., from dark to light), a primer coat may also be necessary.
What paint sheen (finish) should I use?
Answer: It depends on the room. We typically recommend a durable eggshell or satin finish for most walls as it's easy to clean. For high-moisture areas like bathrooms, a satin or semi-gloss is ideal. For ceilings, we use a flat finish to hide imperfections and prevent glare.
How long will the project take?
Answer: Painting a single, standard-sized room can often be completed in one day. Larger projects involving multiple rooms or extensive prep work will take longer. We will provide you with a clear and detailed timeline in your official project proposal.
