I commit to integrity and transparency, embracing the call to Be fearlessly authentic. This means dealing honestly with clients and colleagues, communicating clearly, taking responsibility for my work, and representing my skills truthfully. (I commit)
I commit to positive impact, remembering to Spread kindness like confetti. This means treating clients, their property, fellow members, and the community with respect, courtesy, and professionalism, fostering collaboration and goodwill. (I commit)
I dedicate myself to continuous learning, ethical conduct, exceptional customer service, and actively contributing to the positive reputation of the Craftsman Painter Collective. (I commit)

The Craftsman Painter Covenant
Preamble
This Craftsman Painter Covenant outlines the professional standards promise required of every member of the Craftsman Painter Collective (Collective). A covenant, in this sense, like a government covenant to its constituents, is simply a promise to our customers. It is the practical application of the principles laid out in the Craftsman Painter Oath. Adherence to this code is non-negotiable and is essential for maintaining the integrity of the Collective brand, ensuring client trust, and fostering a supportive, professional community.
I. Commitment to the Client
When working in a client's home or on their property, members represent the entire Collective. Our conduct must be exemplary to build and maintain trust.
- Professionalism & Appearance: Members and their teams will maintain a professional appearance, including clean, appropriate work attire. Conduct will be courteous and respectful at all times.
- Clear Communication: Members will communicate clearly, promptly, and honestly with clients regarding project timelines, costs, and any issues that may arise. Phone calls and emails should be returned within one business day.
- Respect for Property: Members will treat a client's home and property with the utmost care. This includes protecting floors, furniture, and belongings from damage, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
- Safety & Cleanliness: Job sites must be left tidy and safe at the end of each workday. Upon project completion, the site will be thoroughly cleaned of all materials, tools, and debris.
- Confidentiality & Privacy: Members will respect the privacy of their clients. Any personal information or observations made within a client's home are to be kept strictly confidential.
II. Commitment to the Craft
Our reputation is built on the quality of our work. This commitment ensures that the Collective brand remains synonymous with excellence.
- Honest Representation: Members will accurately represent their skills, services, and qualifications in all marketing materials and client discussions.
- Adherence to Agreements: All work will be performed in accordance with the written contract or agreement. Any changes to the scope of work will be documented and agreed upon by the client in writing.
- Quality Materials & Practices: Members will use quality materials and employ sound, industry-standard preparation and application techniques to ensure a durable and high-quality finish.
- Accountability: Members will stand behind their work and take responsibility for correcting any defects resulting from poor workmanship, as outlined in their service agreement.
III. Commitment to the Collective
The strength of the Collective lies in our mutual respect and collaboration. Our interactions with fellow members and the broader trade community reflect on us all.
- Professional Courtesy: Members will treat one another with respect and professionalism in all interactions, both within and outside of official Collective meetings.
- No Disparagement: Members will not publicly or privately disparage the work, character, or pricing of any other painter, whether they are a Collective member or not. Constructive criticism and feedback should be reserved for private, respectful conversations within the confidential setting of a chapter meeting.
- Collaborative Spirit: Members are encouraged to share knowledge, offer assistance, and foster a spirit of collaboration. The success of one member enhances the reputation of all members.
- Upholding the Brand: Members will conduct their business in a lawful and ethical manner that reflects positively on the Craftsman Painter Collective brand at all times.
Enforcement
Violations of this Code of Conduct will be taken seriously and are subject to the conflict resolution process outlined in the Governance section of the Chapter Handbook. Adherence to these standards is a condition of continued membership.
